Phillips Fashion Week Ljubljana
Hi Dolls. Sorry for not posting in a while but I have been so busy with school and everything. I also went to Belgrade for a couple of days - made me even busier, so again really sorry. I know I'm probably the last one to post about FWLJ but I just didn't have any time. I was so lucky to go on the last show of the fashion week and this was my first time to attend this event. I was soo excited. Unfortunately (if you read my Twitter you might already know this) I was a bit disappointed with everything. Fashion in Slovenia just doesn't evolve right now. The designers don't really try to be artistic, they look on fashion just with materialistic eyes. I can see that their motto is: do something that will sell. They don't really challenge themselves, and this makes me sad. They are not really the trend setters, they just make clothes that are fashionable right now, which is kind of confusing, because they were suppose to give directions to all the fashionistas.
All the collections I saw on the runway were manly ready-to-wear with an exception (young@squat) - they really wanted to do something new and fresh but didn't really succeed at it. I liked Maja Štamol's collection the most, because it was kind of my style. Lots of leather and gold :) Almira Sadar did disappoint me, because I was expecting so much more from her - she's a true slovenian icon. However she did not prove that on the runway. Draž did an amazing job with their collection, I have to say that, but I never really liked their collections and style in general so I can't be critical.
So all in all a bit disappointed. But I have to say I started to like some of the dresses when I saw them later in the photos, because I didn't really notice all the details in person. So good job Nelizabeta for the detailing.
So this is my short review. Hope you liked it. Talk to you soon. Till then. XOXO
