Christmas Day Makeup Look / 2015
So because it's almost Christmas I decided to prepare a Christmas Day Makeup look for you today. Products I've used in this post are the ones I've been absolutely loving in 2015 and know they'll not disappoint me on an important day or event.
Because it's practically winter now I try to keep my foundation looking fresh and dewy, even though I have quite oily skin already (which can be a challenge). First I apply an oil-free moisturiser to keep my skin hydrated and then my new favourite foundation, Bourjois 123 Perfect in the lightest shade (51). For the application I use the Real Techniques expert face brush. It is the best foundation brush I've ever used - the whole Real Technique's line is just amazing. For concealing I use my two trusted concealers, which I've been using for years now: for the under-eye circles I use the L'Oreal La Touche Magique highlighting concealer and for the rest of my face I use Mac Pro Longwear in NC 20. Both are my holy-grail products, easy to apply and provide great coverage. To give my face some life and dimension back, I use the best bronzer for contouring in my opinion, which is Hoola by Benefit, a Freedom peachy blush in Angelic and to add some highlight I use either TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer or Mac Soft and Gentle. It depends on what kind of a glow I want to go for - for a more intense highlight I use theBalm highlighter and for a more subtle glow I use Soft and Gentle. These are some really hyped products but totally worth the money - they are all amazing.
I absolutely love the look of bold and defined brows, so I take quite some time of my whole makeup routine to fill them in. I start with my Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe - with light strokes I try to achieve an illusion of bigger brows, then continue to fill and enhance the arches of the brows with Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium and top everything off with L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper - a clear brow gel to keep them in place. This is a combination I've been using for months now and it works great for me.
I will keep my eye-look very simple, rose toned - first I'll prime the eyelids with Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the shade Creme d'Nude (which is an awesome dupe for Mac Soft Ochre Paint pot), continued with a more subtle shimmery shade on a lid and a purple shade in the crease. I chose a palette from Catrice, Absolute Rose. It's a great drugstore option, affordable and quite pigmented. I'll also define the eyes with L'Oreal liquid eyeliner and Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Again, very simple because I want the red lips to be the most important part of this year's Christmas makeup look.
Red lips are definitely a signature look of every beauty blogger on Christmas Day or in December in general. Last year I wore my Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107, but for this year I decided to wear a bright red shade. First I'll also use a lip-liner for a more precise look - Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Eastend Snob, because it's the best your-lips-but-better colour. Then I'll apply Bourjois Rouge Edition Liquid Lipstick in Hot Pepper. It's the perfect shade for the Christmas Dinner, because it doesn't transfer and when it wears off a bit, leaves a nice and even stain to the lips.
So this is my Christmas Day Makeup Look. Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know your favourite products in the comments below.
