Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ljubljana / Day 2
A day marked by rain.
Yesterday was the first day of shows for F/W 2016 at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ljubljana. The first set of shows featured Akultura, Peter Movrin and Sens and the second Spirit by T. B. and Cliche. All the designers featured very interesting collections, but by far my favourite was Peter Movrin with his eccentric, show-stopping collection, which really made an effect when combined with the lighting, music and visual effects. The collection was a gorgeous drift away from the monotone and rather expected black&white colour scheme for the fall and winter that designers use most often. Spirit by T. B. also really surprised me with his collection, which featured my favourite piece of the night - a transparent structured coat that I definitely wouldn't mind owning in the future.
Sens presented a fresh spin on the menswear, which I would best describe as: when men's business dress code meets high fashion. In general it was really refreshing to see that much menswear on the runway for a change. Akultura opted for a school girl look combined with an army edge and Cliche presented a very wearable collection with some pops of red throughout. I will go more in depth in the next few posts, where I will also feature my favourite looks from the individual collections.
After the shows ended it was time for the final act of the night: a fashion installation featuring Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition F/W 2016, carried out by Wolfova 5. Gorgeous haute couture designs, mixed with smoke and amazing lighting made a true fashion impact on all the spectators, so that everyone left amazed by the performance. As cliche as it may sound, they really saved the best (act) for last.
There was no stain accident this time, but it was unfortunately raining most of the day, so we didn't manage to take some pictures outside. Oh well! We obviously didn't have the best luck so far. Either way, we did our best and in the end found this background in the venue downstairs from where the shows were held. It's day 3 today, which is unfortunately the last day, so I will definitely make the most of it!
