SLOVENIAN TRADITION THROUGH OUR EYES
2017 is almost here. This is our way to start with the new year.
COLLABORATIONSEverything began in 2012, with an idea to celebrate the holidays with our friends, the readers. After three Christmas videos, we decided for a change. And it was last year that me and Klemen came up with the idea to create a calendar as part of our Christmas giveaway. The response was unexpected and we decided to continue with the "Calendar Christmas Tradition" again this year.
ONCE AGAINAnother year, another calendar. This year we decided to use traditional Slovenian patterns - Slovene cultural heritage is very close to us, so we knew immediately that we wanted to create a calendar that featured hand-made Slovenian patterns that followed us both throughout our childhood and have brought back some great memories.
AND WE WERE OFF ...
We travelled to Podkoren, a small village under the Alps, where you can find Pr' Gavedarjo, a homestead in the centre of a hamlet. Their rooms hold the same story as our calendar: Slovenian cultural heritage and traditional patterns that are used and redesigned in a modern way.
ABOUT THE CALENDARThere are two versions of the calendar, a white and a red one, which together represent 12 months of 2017. They also hold an added bonus: after the year is over you can simply cut out the months and dates and reuse them as prints to decorate your walls.
