Lifestyle / Fashion / Beauty Blog

Hi! I'm a 23-year-old blogger living in Ljubljana. Stylist and video maker, currently running

Hi everyone. As you all know I'm leaving for England very soon, that's why I'm writing my own "wish list". It's a list full of things that I have to buy when I'm there. And one of the things is definitely to go to MAC, because unfortunately we don't have one here. I was thinking what to buy there, maybe a blush, lipstick or something else. Please help me and give me some advice on what is a"must have" from a MAC store that every girl should have. Thank you for your help.
Talk to you soon. XOXO

Oscars 2013

Yesterday was an Oscars night. And you all know that I have been waiting for this moment for months now. I woke up at 2 am just to watch the live show, so excuse me if I make any mistakes in this posts but I'm really tired. Now, no need for a long introduction, we have a lot of work to cover everything so let's get down to business.

"Film review" (if you are not interested in film just scroll down to the "fashion review): I have to say the night was not full of surprises, however there were some of them as always. Firstly I have to mention the host Seth which was in my opinion amazing, calm, "charming" and hilarious, unlike many other hosts in the past years. First surprise of the night was Christoph Waltz winning as the best supporting actor. Don't get me wrong I love his acting and the movie Django Unchained but nobody expected that. I predicted that the winner is going to be Tommy Lee Jones from Lincoln or Robert De Niro from Silver Linings Playbook. Another shocker was Ang Lee wining as best director and beating Steven Spielberg, who probably doesn't need any introduction.  Moving on to the biggest surprise of the night which was the best picture - the winner was Argo. When Michelle Obama announced the winner I literally sat there with my mouth wide open, looking as shocked as ever. I have to say that I absolutely adore Argo and is this years by far my favourite movie but I just did not expect that. I was hoping the Academy would recognise all the work they've put into the movie but after Ben Affleck's "fail" at the nominations this movie was the last I expected to win. I was tied between Lincoln and Life of Pi, which were definitely the favourites to win the award. So to sum up I absolutely loved this years Oscars, from Jennifer Lawrence (best leading actress), Anne Hathaway (best supporting actress), Daniel Day Lewis (best leading actor), Quentin Tarantino (best original screenplay) and many more. But the most exciting thing for me was the performance of Les Miserables cast all together. I nearly had a heart attack. Loved it.

Fashion review: now it's time for all the fashionistas. In general they all disappointed me. No one really stood out. My predictions sort of came true but let's start at the beginning. My best dressed were: Charlize Theron in Dior, Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab and Amy Adams in Oscar De La Renta; the "not so sure about it": Jessica Chastain in Giorgio Armani, Jennifer Garner in Gucci - love the colour though, Anna Hathaway in Prada and Jennifer Lawrence in Dior. And as for Adele stands I expected so much more (she was the same dress as last years Grammys gown- sort of). The biggest trend on the red carpet were definitely glitter and sequins and everything in between. As it goes for my predictions: Jennifer Lawrence wore the exact same dress I predicted for Anna Hathaway, Jennifer Aniston wore the dress I also predicted for Anne. Talking about Anne - she wore a simple Prada dress in a pastel, soft colour as I sort of predicted. But have to say she disappointed  all of us. She could so much better than this. Jessica Chastain went in a totally different direction as I thought and went with a body hugging dress with sequins from Armani. She still looked amazing, but something was just missing for me, but I don't know what exactly. Charlize wore this simple but gorgeous gown - she was beautiful but nothing special. I also expected so much more from Jennifer Lawrence. I mean she looked gorgeous as always but c'mon this are the Oscars. You have to go all out. And they just simply didn't do that. I also have to mention Jennifer Garner's dress - she chose the most beautiful colour but the gown simply did not work at all. Too busy for my taste.

So this is it for today. Hope you liked this post. Let me know what did you think by commenting below. Talk to you soon.
Till then XOXO

Preparing for spring

Hello everyone. Spring is suppose to start very soon, but watching through the window that probably won't happen any time soon. It's been snowing like crazy again and thankfully it'll stop in the evening - so let's hope this weather forecast actually comes true. Anyway staying in the whole spring spirit I decided to post about new trends for spring 2013: stripes and yellow/lime colour. If you have gone shopping lately you probably saw this kind of trends on the shelves of ZARA, Topshop, Asos etc. For me this trends don't suit me at all, because I hate yellow and I really don't see myself wearing it. I'll probably make some kind of deal with myself and go with the lime colour :) And about the stripes - at first I hated them, but now (it's just like military trend all over again) I love them. But you have to be really careful with styling them because they can easily make you bigger than you actually are.
So this is it for today. Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what are your favourite trend for the upcoming season.
Talk to you soon. XOXO

Just me, thinking

Hi everyone. How are you all doing? The weekend and holidays are finally here and I'm so excited to do some things that I wasn't able before because I had school. I realised today that I'm leaving for England in two weeks time. Let the countdown begin :) I'm going there as a part of a school exchange, and I'm going to Lancing college if you know where that is. I'm so happy to go to England again, because I just adore England and people there are so nice. I always feel like at home when I go there. And of course before I leave I have to right down all the places I want to visit: like Starbucks, MAC, River Island, Primark and many other shops we don't have in Slovenia. Now it's your turn to recommend some places which I don't know or should visit on my trip (you can suggest anything, not only shops). I have another thing to ask you. I have been thinking about starting my own channel on youtube. What do you think about that? Do you have any suggestion for the topics I should cover (fashion, beauty, funny videos, trip videos etc. anything you want)? Just let me know by commenting below. Thanks for your help.
 Talk to you soon. XOXO

Beautiful Blogger Award

Hi Dolls. This is a lovely surprise. I got nominated for another award past week and it's for Beautiful Bloggers and I was nominated by: The Girl in the Yellow Dress. Check her out, she is amazing :) Anyway now I have to share 7 random facts about me and nominate other blogs for the same award. So let's get started:

1. I'm afraid of spiders. Not just the big ones, I'm also scared of the tiniest ones. I always freak out when I see a spider, so at that time is not good to be around me.
2. I'm the biggest movie lover. I watch everything, from comedies to horror movies. That's is why I can't wait to see the Oscars this year.
3. The first thing I do in a foreign country is to go to Starbucks. Literally the first thing I see is coffee :) It's because we don't have Starbucks here, and that makes me so sad.
4. I'm obsessed with Primark. Every time I go to England is Primark the place where I spend most of my time (or River Island).
5. I hate yellow and orange colour. I always have and always will. Just not my cup of tea. Sorry.
6. I used to hate military style until this season. And now I literally wear it every week.
7. My guilty pleasure: One direction. I have to confess, I just love them. They are adorable and their songs always get me in a better mood.

So this is it, hope you liked it.

I now nominate:

My week in review

Hi Dolls. This week has probably been the best one so far. I hadn't much school work (only one test) so I had more time for myself. Monday and Tuesday were the "study days" and on Wednesday I finally had time to catch up with new episodes from my favourite Tv shows. On Thursday we had a field day (if that is a correct term). We went to Bled where we made a quick stroll around the lake and then went ice-skating which was so much fun. And Friday was a special day for all Juniors and Seniors. I don't know how is called in english but we had the whole day off to go around different universities and check out their programmes and to make a plan for our future (where and what we will study for the next 3 to 5 years). But besides that I of course did some shopping - you have to do that if you're in the city center :) Oh and I almost forgot, I finally bought myself a Michael Kors watch. I'm a bit late to join the party, but I have been adoring this watch for probably over a year now. I love it. I think it's from his  permanent collection and it's gold and shiny and so many other things :)
So this was my week. Talk to you soon.

Missing Summer

Hi Dolls. First of all I have to thank you again, because I just reached 400 followers. This is crazy. I have a feeling that I'm writing this kind of post every month, but you are so amazing to me so thank you <3
Anyway the main reason for writing this post is to express how much I miss spring/summer. Don't get me wrong I love winter (snow, Christmas, cozy outfits...) but it's kinda getting on my nerves already. It's been snowing like crazy for the past few days and it just doesn't seem that it will stop any time soon. And I hate that, because you can't function at all.
I miss wearing flowy dresses, going to the beach, sunbathing, swimming ...
I just hope winter will end soon, because I can't wait for spring to start and see what new it brings.

That's all for today. Talk to you soon. XOXO

Grammys 2013

Hi Dolls. As I've promised you I'm doing my favourite red carpet dresses post. This time it's the Grammys. This is one of the events that I'm always really excited for, because people always wear something unpredictable and really fashion forward. However I have to say that I was really disappointed this year. Not one dress did stood out form the rest. Everything was so hmm average. The colour of the event was definitely RED: Rihanna, Natasha Bedingfield, Skylar Grey...  Rihanna was again my best dressed, very elegant and sexy (but I was a little bit disappointed because I expected so much more from her), I also liked Beyonce's outfit, because it was different and very trendy, but soo inappropriate for this event. It's more like an after party outfit. The rest of them were really nothing special. I also included Taylor Swift, because she was pretty but looked just like million times before - flowy pastel dress with a nice updo hairstyle, and smokey make up. All in all nothing special, still waiting for the Oscars. But let me know how you think.

Alexander Wang NYFW

The moment we've been all waiting for is finally here. It's the new Alexander Wang Fall/Winter collection which was presented yesterday at the NYFW. And it didn't disappoint anyone.  He stayed true to his boxer shorts/pants combined with complicated tops or coats. A girl wearing his clothes definitely won't be cold this season. Talking about the colour palette: we can just say it's 50 shades of grey for Wang. He used 3 different colours which are always fashionable: grey, black and white. He surprised us yet again with his works which are pure high fashion. And I totally agree with Jane Larkworthy from W magazine: "Yup, he's ready for Balenciaga."

Maxi skirt

Hi Dolls.  This week has been so busy so I was very happy to be free today. That's why I used this time to do another photo shoot. As I have told and showed you before I finally decided to buy a maxi skirt. Yes it took me a long time to do it, but I'm glad I did. It's from ZARA and it's this gorgeous burgundy colour. I'm also wearing a vintage belt, a DIY headband and a half leather jacket also from ZARA.

And my favourite song of the week: I dreamed a dream - Anne Hathaway

Hi Dolls. Even though I have been studying Chemistry all day, having singing lesson for about 2 hours and because of that being exhausted I still found some time to make a new collage for all of you, because I was "tumblring" again and I saw some really beautiful pictures as always. It is based on pink/red colour and it reminds me of this awesome song from The Piano Guys: Love Story meets Viva la Vida.
So here it is:

January Favorites

Hi Dolls. One of my New Year's resolutions was to create a new segment here on my blog. And when I was thinking of what should I do, I of course went on Youtube and found this Monthly Favorites videos, started watching them and now I'm obsessed. So I decided to post my Monthly Favorites this year for each month starting with January which is already over. Wow time passes by so fast. Anyway starting today I'll post my favorite things for each month in 4 categories: Fashion, Beauty, Music/Movies and Random.
So lets get started:

1. Fashion

Favorite designer: definitely Elie Saab, I published a lot of posts about him, even this month. I can't describe why I love his designs so much, but I just do. And I think I'm not alone on that :)
Most worn item of clothing: definitely skirts. Don't know why, but I love wearing skirts in winter more than in Spring or Summer. I'm never cold, in fact I feel even warmer than wearing super thick jeans or pants. You just know I'm wild like that (no I'm not LOL).
New items I bought this month: I bought a new sweater from H&M and it's emerald green which is definitely my favorite color right now; I also finally bought a maxi skirt - yes I know I'm a bit late on this trend, but I never had the courage to buy it and it's this beautiful burgundy colour and when I saw it in ZARA I said enough, I'm buying it :) And I think this is pretty much it for this month.

2. Beauty

I finally bought the REVLON Colour Stay foundation, because many of the beauty gurus recommended it and now I know why. I love it. It feels really good on my skin and I finally found my perfect shade (all of the previous ones made me look so orange). I also found this amazing mascara from Max Factor called Clump Defy and I have to say that it really surprised me. I was a bit sceptical at first, because the brush seemed too small for me, but I realised that it made my eyelashes so long and pretty. I'm definitely recommending both of this products.

3. Music/Movies

Favorite songs: my most played songs on iTunes were
Favorite Movies: definitely Django Unchained, because I always love seeing Leonardo DiCaprio in a movie and Quentin Tarantino's movies are always a success and this one is no different - the story is amazing, acting is very convincible and directing is extraordinary. Another movie that is on my favorites list is of course Les Miserables - I already knew the story from watching the musical but this movie takes it to another level. The singing which is not prerecorded is amazing. Words cannot describe how much I love this movie. Perfection is all I can say.

4. Random

Drinking Peppermint tea constantly, lighting candles, studying, watching Friends. This is how you describe my January. :)

New trend alert: Straight hair

Straight hairstyle is definitely making its comeback to the red carpet replacing the whole wavy trend that has been around for a while now. I spotted this trend this week when Nicole Kidman wore her straight hairstyle on the red carpet for the SAG awards. And that's when I started researching and found more celebrities that had chosen this kind of hairstyle before in 2013. I think this is going to be a trend to look for in the future, especially now during the award season. I personally really this kind of a hairstyle, because it's simple but still very nice.

What do you think? Let me know by commenting below.
Talk to you soon. XOXO

Thank you AGAIN :)

2013 has been very good so far. I've just reached 300 followers. Wow. That is a big number for me. I know I published the same post about a month ago after reaching 200 followers, but you have been all so nice to me and the number as you can see changed pretty quickly. So again thank you so much for your support. It means so much that something that makes me happy and I enjoy doing can actually be "successful"and I couldn't have done anything without you. Hope to write this kind of post again soon :)

And just one less thought that can follow you throughout the day: Don't forget to be awesome :)
