My Most Used Beauty Products of 2015

As we're now already in the middle of January it's just the right time to make a post about my most used beauty products in 2015. It's been a wonderful and very successful year regarding the beauty side of it. I've tried lots of new products, I've changed up my routines quite a bit and in generally enjoyed using a variety of products throughout 2015. These are my favourite, go-to products, my holly-grails, which I know will work perfectly all the time. I sectioned them into different groups, because there are so many of them. Now let's begin!

Firstly, to apply the makeup I need to give some special attention to my favorite brushes - the Real Techniques Blush brush and Expert Face brush. They are the best face brushes I've ever used, both sold at a very affordable price. They are so soft, both blend the makeup seamlessly and make the process of applying makeup so much easier. For the eyes I've been using Kiko brushes, which are another great drugstore option, but I definitely need to try out more brushes from the Real Techniques range.

I have very oily eyelids so I need to constantly prime them with either UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion or Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creme d'Nude. They're both yellowed tone, perfect to neutralise and prime my eyes for the latter eyeshadow application. If you have a budget to splurge on some makeup, I would definitely recommend the UD Primer Potion, because it's a wonderful product.
It has definitely been a year of mascaras. I'm obsessed with trying out new mascaras, so every time I go to the drugstore, I always choose a different one to try out that month. Volume and length is what I always look for in a good mascara. And for 2015 I have 3 favourites, which give me both volume and length: a more affordable option is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, which is the best drugstore mascara right now in my opinion (even though I'd been a constant fan of L'Oreal mascaras). For a more high-end options I absolutely loved YSL Baby Doll mascara and Benefit They're real mascara. I always get compliments when wearing these mascaras, so I know they do a great job and would fully recommend them.
I've raved about this next product so much on my blog already, so I want to give a quick shoutout to the L'Oreal La Touche Magique under-eye concealer and highlighter, perfect product to give my face and eyes back some brightness and achieve a more awake look.
My go-to, most worn eye makeup look in 2015 has been a combination of Mac single matte eyeshadow in Quarry with a bronzer shade (as a transition shade) in the eye socket for the perfect daytime, matte smokey look. If I have more time I also add some more definition to eyes with a liquid eyeliner and top everything off with a mascara.

I've already written a lot about my eyebrow routine, so just to mention my favourite products: to define them I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe, for a more fuller appearance I use Benefit Gimme Brow gel in Light/Medium and to set them in place - L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in transparent.

My skin has been very clear lately, so I've changed up my foundation routine quite a bit and I'm now able to wear more light-medium coverage foundations. My favorite one in 2015 was definitely Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream in Nr. 51. I personally was never a fan of all the BB and CC cream trends, because I have very oily skin - every BB or CC I've tried out made me look greasy and faded rather quickly. However, the Bourjois CC cream has definitely been the best one I've ever used, especially now in the winter time, when my skin needs some more hydration than normally. It gives you a great, yellow based coverage, which is very important, because it's quite hard to find a yellow based shade, but still light enough for my pale skin tone. And if I needed just a touch more of coverage I used my trusted Mac Pro Longwear concealer in NC20, the best, long-wearing, very high coverage concealer.
2015 has definitely been a year of highlighting. I watched many different YouTube tutorials on highlighting, but my favourite was from Wayne Goss - his video introduced me to the "Halo effect". This technique gives you a more natural glow, becuase you apply it in circular motions all around the cheek area, instead of just one straight line. For this "halo effect" (a more subtle highlight) I used Mac Soft and Gentle and for a more intense highlight I used TheBalm Mary Lou-manizer.
For 2015 I cannot decided on just one favourite blush, because I've tried out so many. Besides my trusted Mac Peaches blush I've been constantly using Freedom blush in Angelic, another peachy toned, very affordable blush. Another Mac favourite has been Fleur Power blush, which gives you the perfect rosy hue to your cheeks. I also absolutely loved wearing MaxFactor Creme Puff Blush in 15 Seductive pink, which has a very similar texture to the Hourglass Ambient light blushes. For contouring I've been using my trusted Benefit Hoola bronzer, the most versatile bronzer, perfect for different skin tones.

To remove my makeup I have been using Bioderma for years now - it has been working out perfectly for me. It's very gentle - very suitable for a sensitive skin type just like mine. For the under eye circles I've been using First Aid Beauty Triple Eye Remedy, pink (salmon) toned eye cream to cancel out the blue/purple hue. I usually use it just before I start applying my makeup. And the last (but certainly not least) product of 2015 is my trusted St. Tropez Gradual tan body lotion in Light/Medium, which keeps me looking tanned and glowy. So this is it for my 2015 beauty favorites. Hope you enjoyed this post! In the comments below let me know your favourite prodcts from last year! I would love to try out some new products.

Talk to you soon!
