Lifestyle / Fashion / Beauty Blog

Hi! I'm a 23-year-old blogger living in Ljubljana. Stylist and video maker, currently running

Yesterday I got the opportunity to try out a new Hinüber backpack, which is part of a new project from Stefan Hinüber. He thinks that backpacks are a great product to start up a business, because they are a huge fashion trend and there's also a massive market for backpacks. He wants to deliver good quality and stylish products offered at an affordable price.

You can read more about the new design and support his project on Kickstarter and Klemen's blog.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ljubljana po premiernem gostovanju kolekcije Alberte Ferretti Limited Edition FW 2016 in obisku svetovno znane manekenke Petre Nemcove, novinarskem obisku modne urednice revije Schön Magazine, predavanju vodje zunanjega oblikovanja Mercedes-Benz Roberta Lešnika napoveduje nove spremembe po vzoru ikoničnih tednov mode in modnih titanov. 22. oktobra se vrača v Cankarjev dom, kjer bo v jesenski ediciji javnosti ponudil fotografsko razstavo, modni performans, filmoteko, modne revije in podelitev Mercedes-Benz Fashion Award. Tudi tokrat v Ljubljano prihajajo najbolj plodni oblikovalci iz regije in Evrope.

Oktobrska edicija MBFWLJ modnim oblikovalcem premierno ponuja izbiro med prikazom See now / Buy now kolekcij ter sezonskih kolekcij.

Jeseni nas vsekakor čaka izredno zanimiv modni program. Medtem ko čakamo na uradni začetek jesenskega tedna mode, sem za vas pripravila kratek pregled vseh mojih outfitov z zadnjega, spomladanskega tedna mode (šele sedaj sem ugotovila, da na vseh slikah nenamerno uporabljam isti pogled).

21 things for 21

Today is a somewhat special day here on this blog because we are celebrating 5 years of Blush and my 21st birthday. Even though I've been writing my blog for literally half a decade (wow), I still feel like the best things and projects are yet to come. I started Blush as a personal diary, as something to look back on in a few years time, but it has become so much more than that. Now it represents a huge part of my life and I hope it will stay the same in the future.
I turned 21 on August 7th, so this post is coming to you guys a little late, but I hope you enjoy anyway! So here are 21 things for 21 (things I've learned so far):

Coffee is the gift from the heavens.
Every time you have an opportunity to travel take it, because you can find something interesting in literally every city.
Get the best possible education because the one thing that no one can ever take away from you is your knowledge.
Not everyone is going to like you. So don't feel like you need to impress everyone. The only person you need to impress is yourself.
Not all criticism is bad.
Step out of your comfort zone. It makes you grow.
Always make time for your friends.
Believe in yourself and believe in something that will keep you going.
Take time for yourself.
Also, choose sleep.
Being alone doesn't mean that you're lonely.
Start being inspired by the people that actually made a difference in this world (and not just some random celebrities).
Don't define yourself by numbers.
Hard work pays off.
Remembering that you can't fix or change someone else is important.
Listen to your mom because she's right.
Get up early and be productive.
Sometimes you just need to put yourself first.
Rejection is something that you should not fear but simply accept it.
Wear colourful things. Especially this autumn!
Drink water!

At some point in your life you have all probably heard of the famous quote from Yves Saint Laurent, "Fashions fade, style is eternal." Yes, I agree that it might just be one of the most cliché, overused phrases in the fashion world, but if you really think about it, you may come to realise that it's actually very true.
I got the idea for this post when I was looking back through my earliest posts on my blog. Even though they were quite cringeworthy, I'm not going to lie, I still decided to leave the posts "public" on the blog. They are a wonderful indicator of how much you can evolve and learn in just a few years, from style, makeup, editing, writing, taking pictures, etc.
I change my mind constantly, which is mostly evident in my style choices. In general my style consists of minimalistic, monochromatic aesthetic, to which I add different trends that I love at that moment. In this post I want to mainly point out that, when it comes to fashion and your personal style, it's very important to have a good eye as well as the ability to carefully choose the trends that fit in with your own personal aesthetic. It's easier to just blindly follow magazine's directions, whereas staying true to yourself and your own taste presents the real challenge. In the past 4 years or so I have learned that you don't have to have just one specific "type of a style" that defines you, but you can mix and match depending on you mood, occasion, weather, etc. Let's remember that fashion should always be fun and not taken too seriously.

This is how my style has evolved in the past 4 years:

Style Tips / Defining your Personal Style

For me style comes from confidence and being comfortable in what you choose to wear. It's easy to just blindly follow the trends which are recommended to you by the magazines and bloggers, but if you're not comfortable in what you wear + the clothes don't fit your own personal aesthetic that will show. Trust me, I've done that way too many times before. You have to remember that clothes don't completely define who you are, but they do play a great part in defining your personal identity. I love having my blog as my style diary, because I can easily follow my style journey/evolution. I'm planning on posting about my style evolution next week, but in the meantime I prepared some quick style tips that will help you define your personal style.

1. Save pictures of (your own) outfits that you love and use them as an inspiration. For me personally, the best platform for that is Instagram where you can follow people that share the same taste in clothes as you do. I have a separate folder of screenshots on my iPhone full of outfit inspirations, so document your favourite outfits!
2. Experiment. Go to the shops, pick a lot of clothes and try them on. Don't be afraid to try new shapes, styles, colours, etc. to see what fits you best. I always take a bunch of clothes with me to the dressing rooms and if I don't like them I simply return them. Simple as that + it also makes the shopping experience a lot more fun.
3. Keep in mind styles you want to try, how you would like to dress and not what people tell you to wear.
4. Don't blindly follow trends but just keep them as a guide or a starting point.
5. Think about your personal style. Think about what goes together and what you like.
6. Again, be confident in your style.
7. There is no right or wrong when it comes to your personal style because nobody else can define it but you.
8. As long as you like what you are wearing, that's all that matters.
9. Style is something that develops through time and experience, so it's not something that is quick and effortless. I now know what looks good on me and I think this comes with time and experience.
10. Fashion is supposed to be fun, so don't take it too seriously. Have fun!
